Can do- Furniture ideas. Which to do?

I have about 3 places I have need of furniture. I have several simple ideas on Pinterest I could do to work in these spots. It is hard to decide which to do. I hate to actually undertake a project and waste time or materials. Even though the schemes here appear so simple and inexpensive, I believe I could work them, My brain will not do too time consuming plans or intricate instructions.  I need a kitchen piece of small size, and end table and a bathroom piece. Some ideas:

I saw these windows the other day at a thrift shop. Also Habitat thrift stores have all this stuff for cheap. I just have never put together anything like this ever before. So beautiful.

Many made of cardboard ideas. Very cheap, but will it hold up to my families bumpiness.

I have the doors and could easily acquire the legs, but probably longer than I have space for, but love it. I always hate the loose doors lying around. I could at least put this outside. I have an exceptional park like yard, but no good porch or patio area though.

Rolled paper. I save a lot of paper, but may not have enough. Also will it be stable for nightstand with hubby?

Cereal box File Boxes

Get out of My head Please   http://www.getouttamyheadplease.com/2011/08/cereal-box-to-paper-file-box/#

Click on The link above to the original blog I followed to make my own files, daughter doing the legwork.
Today my daughter, with my guidance made file boxes out of cereal boxes. I had needed them to put papers in to be in order with need to do immediately , etc. I have been misplacing papers in a bad way. Now these will not win a beauty contest, but I had the supplies on hand and they will work for my needs. I can write on their backsides:

Will write with markers here as soon as I decide what each file will be used for.

My daughter here made special paper to cover the files with. We also used old paper the kids had made by decorating and had been sitting around for years:

Part way done here:

We went sort of backwards here and have mercy, my camera is not the best. I cannot figure out the complicated ones.

  1. To make these you need empty larger cereal boxes which you cut front and back corner to corner.
  2. To cut- of course -good scissors. My daughter had to rest and continue, since her hands hurt her.
  3. Papers to modge podge for decoration .As stated I wanted to use stuff I had been hanging onto that my kids did way back and my daughter wanted to stamp some new ones. You could use much nicer papers than I did. I just wanted to have a place to put the papers piling up.
  4. Modge  Podge I made my own and works so well. Much cheaper. The directions are here.:http://sunnyslifeinrehab.blogspot.com/2010/08/homemade-decoupage-medium.html
  5. She suggests decorating yogurt cups on the blog to make for the front of the files. I have them pictured, but decided to skip that part since I could not see what I would do with the cups on the front. She is using them for a different purpose.
  6. I did not have a foam paint brush so I used my regular larger items brush. Foam would have been nicer I think. I am, a use what is cheap and already possess person.

  • Cut the boxes as already instructed. I had my daughter cut corner to corner for her ease. You might want to make them wider.
  • Wrap the cut boxes. You can do with strips. I just flushed the paper on the edge to box and cut end or glued them inside like a package.
  • You may want to put a towel down for the next part. Modge Podge  the boxes side . Place you paper to cover . cover the whole outside box.
  • Let dry for about an hour.
  • Sweep over the paper on your files to seal your them and slightly gloss.
  • Dry. After drying you can do the inside. Since mine will be stuffed with renegade papers, I did not do that bit.
  • Take pictures. lol

Beautiful cards.

Adorable. Looks pretty easy. Buttons for birds.
I found a nice board with a lot of cards to make.these are simply beautiful. Some are easy and some are more advanced. They are pinned on this board http://pinterest.com/luvtapin/makes-me-want-to-share/:

Here are examples I pinned on the board:

Of course these could be changed up to any occasion they might fit.

Looks easy and uses scraps.
simple
This card was added to my board.
I traded-the one above  this one since cupcake liners seem so much easier then the origami. For some sad reason-and I actually tried this simple dress- I cannot do that craft. Tears.
For direction for any cards on here or to see my Pinterest gift share ideas with more cards and stuff to give hit link on this page. The ideas for these go back to different sites given there. to their credit.

Continuing on with great fun with kid's-We chose to do on the 4th

In continuance of fun kids ideas for almost any time of the year-even though we did them on the 4th. We have:
1.
2.
  1. Supplies to make bubble snakes. Why to love this fun project. It is so cheap. I got my bubble at the dollar store or you can make your own. You need water bottles. Only one if kids will take turns or you have a single child. Great use for the sock whose mate died in the washer long ago. Most people have scissors, food coloring and a rubber band anyway.
  2. You cut the tops of bottles and save these neat ends for a sun catcher on a later date.
  3. You slip the sock over the bottle like a glove covering open end of bottom bottle and rubber band it to keep in place.
  4. Now in a shallow bowl, pour in bubbles and add food coloring. My kids chose 2 colors.

4,
    5. Dip the sock and bottle bottom in the bubble mixture and blow.

5.

My kids loved the balloon blow up one. Again easy and inexpensive fun experiment with things on hand. it was so awesome how it worked.
  1. 5 supplies needed in first photo.
  2. Fill water bottle about 2/3 full of vinegar. Put soda in balloon. Carefully put balloon lip over top of bottle mouth and loose the soda into the bottle to hit the vinegar . 2nd. picture shows the result starting.
  3. You will be reminded of a hot air balloon blowing up the ways it just stand up after a short time. The balloons do deflate but last a few days. Also they will not behave like helium balloons to let you know. But great excitement to do.
We also tried our hand at polymer clay. the recipe I used turned out great, but will take time to really get it down pat. The kid;s made gifts for their brother for his birthday.

Clay projects made by my children
Here is the recipe link for the clay. I actually -upon reading the comments tried a microwave method someone mentioned so you may wish to scroll down and do it that way. worked wonderfully, though I added more cornstarch to my mixture. the picture next are step by step clay project. I mainly did this part and plan to do a lot more clay things.

To microwave this you use a mixer

Nice clay finished and ready to form.
Finally our last project was exploding soap fun:

Thanks to :   http://www.ourbestbites.com/2012/04/kitchen-craft-soap-clouds-and-homemade-kiddie-

Each kid had a  bar of Ivory (R) soap. Only ivory works this way.
Finished one bar.

Ice burg of soap

We also as on the link molded the s0ap into cute molded bars, but they really crumbled up when removing so were not nice for picture as the ones from the link I got the idea for.

Ivory soap on microwave plate for about 2 minutes.

I am sorry if my post may be out of order from what I would like, my internet fair usage is messing with it so will have to do as is. I think all are smart enough to arrange the pictures in there mind the order they should be.

Have fun
